Aislinn Evans

Artist Interview

Playing Tuesday at 2pm and on rotation all week.

An interview with artist Aislinn Evans, discussing the recent exhibition "Road Movie" at Eastbury Manor House, and their connection to the A13 and Barking & Dagenham.

Aislinn Evans is an artist and writer from East London. They use lo-fi, defunct, affordable means – outdated digital video, childhood CRTs, tapes and DVDs. Images from video erupt into print and are reincorporated as artefacts, backdrops, slides, and window works. An expanded-cinema practice, Evans approaches film-making as a form of performance, embracing the encounters and odd bits that build towards the final product on the screen. Their practice is grounded in DIY, unattractive, and community-oriented artistic endeavours in London’s eastern peripheries; and challenge the value placed on locations, on attention, and on the material we use to capture it.
