Woodward Arts & Culture Centre

The old Woodward Library on Woodward Road, Becontree Estate will be redeveloped into a new community arts and culture centre by Barking & Dagenham Council.

We want to ensure that Woodward Arts & Culture Centre is a space for all in the community, one that they see as their own, catering to the needs, interests and aspirations of Becontree, and the borough’s diverse demographics. To achieve this, we will work closely with residents and community organisations to understand how the space will be used, what equipment is needed, and develop a programme for the centre.

We've arranged a site visit to the centre for councillors, council officers, residents and community organisations on Wednesday 7 December, 12-1pm. The site visit will involve a tour of the beautiful old library, bringing members of the community together to explain the proposed plans and how they can get involved in shaping the space.
