Podcast and Radio Technical Workshop

Becontree Broadcasting Station presents a FREE podcast and radio technical workshop open to the public. The workshop will be held at Valence Library Arts and Culture Hub on Thursday 20th October, 6.30-8.30pm and delivered by Lucia Scazzocchio.
The workshop will cover:
- Setting up recording equipment
- Writing a short script with cues
- Recording a conversational podcast and radio show with everyone trying out different production roles
- Learning how to record a show and then knowing what to do with it afterwards

Lucia Scazzocchio has had a rich and diverse career revolving around print journalism, sound and new media. It is an on-going obsession with radio spanning from her early teens that lead her to work with many broadcast formats from community, student and pirate radio to commercial and online stations. This experience led her to question the value and current formats of internet-radio and to begin experimenting with how radio production and broadcasting techniques can be adapted to correspond to emerging mobile, wireless and online technologies and subsequently how audiences consume and relate to audio content.
